The idea behind prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for the recipient's special need. The quilt is then given to that person. This is not just a gift of a quilt, it is a gift of love and prayer. You don't need to be a great sewer - Just have the desire to give of your time and talents in the service of sisters and brothers in need.
