Prayers

Squares

The idea behind prayer
quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches
through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be
tied with a square knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer
is offered for the recipient's special need. The quilt is
then given to that person. This is not just a gift of a quilt,
it is a gift of love and prayer.
You don't need to be
a great sewer - Just have the desire to give of your time
and talents in the service of sisters and brothers in need.

Theological
Theater |
| Theological
Theater meets the third Sunday evening of the month. To view
a movie and discuss how this movie helps us understand scripture.
We meet at 6:30 pm in the Youth/Media Room upstairs, Room 8,
in Garman Fellowship Hall building. Snacks and drinks are provided.

of novels and their relevance to our faith.
Book Group meets the third Monday of month at 7:00 pm in the
Library.

Prayer
Ministry |
Jesus took
regular breaks from his busy schedule of teaching and healing
to be alone with the Father. It is wise to look to Jesus for
direction in how to grow in faith, so why not try silent prayer?

Stephen
Ministers |

Stephen Ministry
is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to
provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who
are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances,
both in our congregation and community.
Christ Lutheran
Church currently has 25 Active Stephen Ministers. As of May
2004 we will have trained 30 Stephen Ministers.
