How We Worship

Worship is a central part of our faith life. We gather together on Sundays to sing, pray, read from the Bible, hear a sermon by our pastors, and share the sacred meal of Communion. It’s an intentional space to reconnect with God, ourselves, and one another.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
— Jesus, Matthew 18:20

What to wear

We’re casual here! You’re welcome to wear whatever is comfortable for you. We follow Jesus’ model of radical inclusion and an open table. This means that all people are welcome in our space, and this philosophy extends to how we worship, dress, celebrate communion, and go out into the world to share the love of Christ.

Kids activities during worship

Children can sit with you in the seats during worship, or you can sit together in our Pray and Play area in the rear of the sanctuary, which is stocked with quiet activities and toys.

There are also Busy Bags available in the church entryway for busy little hands, but we truly understand that little humans sometimes make noise. We don’t mind!

If you would like to be on our email list for family events and resources, email Pastor Kinndlee at PastorKinndlee@ChristPB.org.

You are welcome here

You are welcome here, exactly as you are. When we say “All are welcome,” we mean everyone — regardless of your race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, marital status, social or economic state, physical or mental challenge, or whether you are confident or questioning in your faith.

We are a fully LGBTQ+ affirming church, where queer folks are not only welcomed but celebrated as full and active participants in the life of our community. We are also committed to the ongoing work of anti-racism.

Sunday worship experience

During worship, you will experience:

  • Group confession for the ways we’ve fallen short in our lives

  • Readings from the Bible

  • Live music and singing

  • A sermon message of inspiration and invitation for living out our faith

  • A communion table that is open to all (with non-alcoholic and gluten-free options available)

  • Prayers for each other, our community, and our world

  • An opportunity to give an offering digitally or via cash or check

We end with the refrain:Our worship has ended. Let our service begin. It’s a commission to go into the world and serve God by loving our neighbor.

First-time visitors

When you visit, you will not be required to speak, sign anything, or give money. You will not be singled out, although you may be warmly greeted.

Whether you worship with us online or in person, we believe that your presence makes us more complete, and we are grateful to have you with us.
